I found Taco on the street while I was out buying some things. I asked the neighbors about him, and they told me that someone had come and abandoned him there about three months ago.
He is extremely skinny and, unfortunately, not in the best shape. I took him to the vet, where he had extensive blood work done. The results showed that he is positive for blood parasites, his kidney enzymes are slightly elevated, and his CBC indicates some inflammation in his body.
For now, Taco will be eating Virbac Renal food and taking renal medication, along with treatment for the blood parasites and a spray for the ringworm.
After 21 days, we will need to repeat all of his blood work to see how he is responding to the treatment.
Once he is fully recovered, he will also need to be neutered and vaccinated.
So, Taco will be staying at the clinic for around five weeks while he receives the care and treatment he needs.
