Animal Information

• I certify that all information provided on my animal’s profile is factual and accurate to the best of my knowledge.

• I certify that I have not knowingly withheld important information, including but not limited to medical conditions, behavioral concerns, pregnancy, or past incidents.

• I understand that providing a complete and honest description of my animal increases the chances of finding a suitable and lasting home.

• I certify that I will regularly update my animal’s profile if there are any changes, including new vaccinations, spay/neuter status, or newly observed behaviors.

  I understand that external links are not permitted on animal profiles and that Leaf Animals may remove them to ensure all potential adopters go through the official adoption and screening process.

  I acknowledge that Leaf Animals relies on the information I provide and does not independently verify medical or behavioral histories.

• I certify that, to the best of my knowledge, my animal has been medically assessed and that I have disclosed all known medical information.

• I understand that failure to provide accurate or complete information may result in the removal of my animal’s listing or restriction of my access to the platform.

 

Role & Scope of Leaf Animals:

• I understand that Leaf Animals’ role is limited to connecting animal guardians with potential adopters.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals’ responsibility ends once the animal is transferred into the care of the adopter.

• I agree that Leaf Animals is not responsible for the actions, decisions, behavior, or lack thereof of the adopter.

• I understand that Leaf Animals cannot be held liable for the animal’s wellbeing, safety, medical care, or living conditions once the animal is no longer in my care.

• I acknowledge that while Leaf Animals makes reasonable efforts to follow up on adopted animals when possible, Leaf Animals cannot control or enforce the actions, responsiveness, or willingness of adopters to stay in contact or provide ongoing updates after adoption.

• I understand that while Leaf Animals reviews and filters applications based on its own adoption standards, it does not guarantee the long-term behavior, commitment, or actions of adopters after adoption.

 

Adoption Process and Decision

• I understand that I have the final decision on who adopts or fosters my animal.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals reviews applications, conducts interviews, and filters applicants based on its adoption standards, but does not make the final decision regarding adoption, fostering, or sponsorship.

• I understand that only applicants approved by Leaf Animals will be shared with me for consideration.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals’ screening and filtering process reflects Leaf Animals’ own standards and values and does not replace my personal judgment or expectations of a suitable home.

• I acknowledge that I have the right to approve or reject any application shared with me.

• I understand that if both Leaf Animals and I approve an application, Leaf Animals will facilitate initial contact by sharing my contact details with the approved adopter or fosterer.

• I acknowledge and consent to my contact details being shared for this purpose.

• I understand that Leaf Animals does not share the adopter’s or fosterer’s contact details with me.

• I agree that once contact details are shared, any communication, arrangements, or agreements made are solely between me and the adopter or fosterer and are outside Leaf Animals’ responsibility.

• I agree to set aside time during the transition period to help my animal adjust to their new guardian and home.

• I understand that if my animal is a young kitten who is still with their mother and under 12 weeks of age, Leaf Animals will not adopt them out until they reach at least 12 weeks of age.

 

Profile Approval and Fees

• I understand that uploading an animal on the Leaf Animals website does not guarantee approval of the animal’s profile or successful adoption.

• I understand that the person purchasing the subscription must be the same person responsible for managing the animal’s adoption process. I acknowledge that the subscription holder’s name and contact details must match the contact information listed on the animal’s profile, and that Leaf Animals does not manage or communicate through third parties who are not the registered subscriber.

• I understand that Leaf Animals may contact me once to provide guidance on improving my animal’s profile to increase their chances of adoption. This may include, but is not limited to, suggestions regarding photo quality, completeness of the description, accuracy of information, or general preparation of the animal for adoption (such as medical readiness).

• I acknowledge that implementing any suggested changes remains my responsibility, and that Leaf Animals is not obligated to provide repeated follow-ups or ongoing profile optimization support.

• I acknowledge that profile approval is subject to review by Leaf Animals and must align with the platform’s guidelines, values, and standards.

• I understand that the subscription fee (300, 450, or 600 EGP) is non-refundable once the animal profile has been submitted.

• I acknowledge that subscription fees cover platform services only and do not guarantee adoption, fostering, sponsorship, or specific outcomes.

• I understand that if I wish to discuss my animal’s adoption in detail with Leaf Animals via Zoom or phone, I may be required to book a non-refundable consultation for a fee of 600 or 800 EGP (or the equivalent), payable through the designated consultation booking link.

 

Communication & Consultation

• I understand that the Leaf Animals adoption manager is not a customer service representative and does not provide on-demand calls or ongoing individual consultations.

• I acknowledge that the Leaf Animals adoption manager communicates only via WhatsApp messages, unless a consultation has been formally booked.

• I understand that any detailed discussion regarding my animal requires either a booked consultation or a Golden Tails subscription, which includes one free consultation specifically for this purpose.

• I understand that unsolicited calls, messages, or expectations of free one-on-one support outside these options may not be accommodated.

 

Responsibility for the Animal:

• I acknowledge that ensuring the safety, wellbeing, and protection of the animal is my responsibility and does not transfer to Leaf Animals at any point, including before, during, or after adoption.

• I understand that Leaf Animals cannot be held responsible for any incidents, injuries, losses, or outcomes occurring while the animal is under my care, during transport or transition, or after adoption.

• I confirm that it is my responsibility to ensure a safe, appropriate, and informed handover of the animal to the adopter.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals does not assume guardianship, custody, or responsibility for the animal at any stage of the adoption process.

 

Transparency & Disclosure:

• I confirm that I will be transparent and honest, to the best of my knowledge, regarding the animal’s medical history, behavioral traits, temperament, and any known issues.

• I acknowledge that this responsibility includes disclosing any information that may affect the animal’s safety, adoptability, or suitability for a home.

• I confirm that I will promptly update Leaf Animals if I become aware of any new medical or behavioral information prior to adoption.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals relies on the information I provide and cannot be held responsible for undisclosed, inaccurate, omitted, or unknown conditions.

• I understand that failure to provide accurate or complete information may result in the removal of my animal’s listing or restriction of my access to the platform.

• I understand that having the animal examined and medically assessed by a qualified veterinarian prior to adoption is advisable and supports the animal’s safety and transparency for potential adopters, and that arranging and sharing any available medical information remains my responsibility.

 

Animal Welfare, Breeding & Adoption Expectations

• I understand that Leaf Animals is strictly against breeding dogs and cats for any reason, including financial, personal, or intentional breeding.

• I acknowledge that uploading my animal on Leaf Animals does not guarantee adoption or fostering, and that the platform serves as a means to connect animals with potential homes through a structured adoption process.

• I understand that it is not the responsibility of Leaf Animals to ensure my animal is adopted or fostered.

• I acknowledge that if my animal is used for breeding for any reason, Leaf Animals bears no responsibility, including in cases where the animal was adopted out before being spayed or neutered.

• I understand that animals above the age of one (1) year are required to be spayed or neutered to prevent unwanted breeding and protect their health, unless otherwise advised by a veterinarian.

• I confirm that it is my responsibility to ensure my animal is not used for breeding under any circumstances.

• I certify that the animal listed is locatable and under my direct care or responsibility, including in cases of street or community animals, and that the animal is not living on an unknown or random street where it cannot be reliably located if a potential adopter is found.

• I understand that the adoption process takes time to ensure the best outcome for the animal, and that Leaf Animals will not rush an adoption due to urgency or pressure to rehome.

• I understand that the Leaf Animals adoption manager offers guidance and best practices to support the adoption process, but cannot control or enforce how these guidelines are followed. I acknowledge that responsibility for decisions and outcomes remains with me and the adopter, and that Leaf Animals cannot be held liable if recommendations are not followed.

 

Follow-Ups & Communication:

• I understand that while Leaf Animals may make reasonable, best-effort attempts to follow up with adopters, it cannot guarantee updates after every follow-up or at any specific frequency.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals is not obligated to provide ongoing updates and may not be able to inform me every time follow-ups occur.

• I understand that if I wish to receive updates about my animal after adoption, it is my responsibility to establish and maintain a respectful relationship with the adopter and follow up with them directly.

• I agree that the absence of updates does not indicate negligence, failure, or responsibility on the part of Leaf Animals.

• I understand that I am required to keep the Leaf Animals adoption manager informed throughout the adoption process, including updates on availability, progress, or changes in circumstances. I acknowledge that Leaf Animals will not repeatedly follow up to request updates, and that failure to communicate may result in the adoption process being paused or discontinued. I understand that if I change my mind about proceeding with the adoption, I am responsible for informing Leaf Animals promptly.

 

Photos, Profile Management & Social Media Visibility

• I understand that clear, appropriate photos increase my animal’s chances of adoption and agree to follow Leaf Animals’ photo guidelines.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals retains full discretion over how animal profiles are presented on the website and social media platforms.

• I acknowledge and agree that Leaf Animals may use my animal’s photos and profile content, if deemed appropriate, for purposes including but not limited to marketing, educational content, advertising, website content, and social media promotion, in connection with Leaf Animals’ mission and activities.

• I understand that the Leaf Animals website is the primary and official platform for showcasing animals for adoption, and that social media exposure is supplementary, promotional in nature, and intended solely to direct potential adopters to the website. I acknowledge that social media visibility is not guaranteed and does not replace or override the website listing.

 

Naming & Profile Content​

• I acknowledge and agree that Leaf Animals may modify my animal’s name if no name is provided or if placeholder names such as “No Name,” “Not Named,” or “Choose a Name” are used.

• I understand that certain names (including but not limited to offensive, discriminatory, or inappropriate names such as “Blacky,” “Black,” “Bakar,” “Hitler,” “Moussolini,” “Netanyahu,” or similar) will be changed at Leaf Animals’ discretion.

 

Photo Guidelines & Eligibility

• I understand that if the photos I provide do not follow Leaf Animals’ photo guidelines, my animal will not be eligible for special or individual social media posts.

• I understand that Leaf Animals will not create individual posts upon request and that all social media content follows internal planning and scheduling.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals selects specific photos and profiles for individual social media posts and that not all animals listed on the platform will receive individual posts or added to posts.

• I understand that Leaf Animals does not offer on-demand social media posting and does not disclose social media schedules or planning.

 

Subscriptions & Social Media Exposure​

• I understand that my subscription includes social media stories only, not permanent posts, and that being featured in posts is not guaranteed.

• I acknowledge that my subscription includes a maximum of two (2) social media stories per month.

• I understand that purchasing a subscription without uploading an animal profile does not extend or reserve profile duration. Profile duration begins only once the animal profile is uploaded, regardless of when the subscription was purchased.

• I understand that animal profiles are active only for the duration of an active subscription, and that Leaf Animals will delete the profile once the subscription expires.

 

Profile Updates & Maintenance

• I certify that I will regularly update my animal’s profile if information is missing or changes, including age, vaccinations, spay/neuter status, or behavior.

• I certify that if my animal is under 1.5 years old, I will regularly upload updated photos as the animal grows.

• I understand that if a young animal’s profile is not regularly updated with recent photos, the animal will not be featured on social media stories.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals reserves the right to delete animal profiles that have not been updated for three (3) months with new photos and/or information.

• I understand that regular profile updates are required to ensure transparency for potential adopters, to provide accurate and up-to-date information at the time they view the profile, and to support finding the most suitable home for the animal.

 

Content Moderation & Platform Integrity​

• I understand that Leaf Animals may delete or crop photos if they include my name, social media handle, email address, or any identifying information.

• I certify that I will not comment on or engage with my animal’s photos or posts on Leaf Animals’ social media platforms in a way that allows potential adopters to bypass the Leaf Animals adoption process.

• I understand that Leaf Animals will not share my animal on social media stories if the animal is shown wearing aversive equipment (including choke, prong, bark, or e-collars), surgical cones, being carried in the air, grabbed by the collar, or photographed with people present. Additional photo guidelines apply.

 Liability and Contact Information

• I understand that Leaf Animals is not liable or responsible, at any stage, for the behavior, actions, or lack thereof of any person applying to adopt, foster, or sponsor my animal.

• I acknowledge that Leaf Animals follows force-free, science-based principles when it comes to animal behavior and training, and that any guidance provided reflects these values.

• I agree that Leaf Animals may retain and use the contact information I have provided for the purposes of communication related to my animal’s profile, adoption process, and relevant platform updates.

• I understand that if I breach any of the Terms & Conditions, Leaf Animals or its authorized representatives reserve the right to pause or opt out of the adoption process.

• I understand that if Leaf Animals identifies a potential adopter for my animal and attempts to contact me, failure to respond within forty-eight (48) hours may result in my animal’s profile being temporarily removed from the website.

• I acknowledge that timely communication is essential to the adoption process and agree to regularly check my email and contact details associated with my account.
