When I found Cookie and her three siblings abandoned under a bridge without their mother, she was the shyest of the group. She was tiny, frightened, and unsure of people. Whenever I picked her up, she would whine because she didn't know if she could trust me yet. It's amazing how much she's changed in such a short time. Today, Cookie is still tiny (she's barely two months old) but she has discovered that humans are her favorite thing in the world.

The easiest way to describe Cookie is that she's a velcro dog trapped in a puppy's body. Once she decides you're safe, she wants to be wherever you are. If she sees you coming from a distance, she'll start wagging her tail, run toward you, and whine with excitement until you come say hello. If you're standing, she'll weave around your legs and try her best to get your attention. If you sit down, you've lost the battle, she'll immediately climb into your lap, all over your arms, and settle in for cuddles, playtime, or a nap.

Cookie absolutely adores human affection. She loves being close to people, loves being touched, and follows trusted humans everywhere. She has the sweetest habit of whining for attention when she wants love, and honestly, it's almost impossible to ignore her. She just wants to be included in everything. She also has the cutest little face. One of her ears stands up while the other stays folded over, giving her a permanently adorable expression.

Although she can be shy when meeting someone new, she becomes curious, playful, and surprisingly adventurous once she feels comfortable. She gets along well with other dogs and spends time around children every day, whom she absolutely adores.

When she's tired, you'll usually find her curled up beside her sister, Lolita. The two girls have been together since the day I rescued them, and they share a beautiful bond. Lolita helped give Cookie confidence when she was still scared of the world, and they love sleeping, playing, and exploring together. It would be wonderful if they could stay together. Two of her siblings have already found homes and now it's Cookie's turn.

What breaks my heart a little is that she's at an age where all she wants is human companionship. Every time I arrive, she acts as if I've been gone for weeks. Every time I sit down, she tries to climb into my lap. Every day she becomes more affectionate, more trusting, and more attached to the people around her.

Cookie has so much love to give. She's looking for someone who won't mind having a tiny shadow following them around, a little puppy who thinks cuddles are the most important thing in the world, and a best friend who will never stop being excited to see them.
