A traumatized rescue cat in need of a loving stress free patient home. She is very affectionate and playful and she has been through alot. With the right environment and care she thrives.
We first found her at about 2 months old, stuck in 6th of October bridge, terrified and cuddled up by the median strip or middle curb, with cars whooshing by late at night. We found that she had so much puss in and around her eye to the extent that she could not open her eyes. I took her to the vet, where they ran some tests and found that she had a strong viral infection that affected her eyes, nose, and ears. I took her home and consistently cleaned her up and gave her the medicine the vet prescribed at the time until she was cured, then I gave her to the door man. I was consistently spending time with her and following up on her well being and she was doing well.
At some point I got married and moved and was not following up in person anymore. After a while, the doorman called me and told me she is not doing well and that she stopped eating. I went to find her in a bad condition emotionally and physically. she would stress scratch herself to the point of injury, very thin, full of fleas. She was kept alone most of the time and was not well taken care of. I took her home with me, and even though she is better she is still not well and not thriving because I am also not able to provide a suitable environment for her. I have a cat and two dogs and they are not getting along, She ends up stressed because of them and hurts them, so I kept her separated in my room. She needs more consistent company and freedom so she still sometimes stress scratched herself and is not eating very well.
Due to all of this she now has some behavioral issues which I am sure will improve with the right environment because they have mostly developed after being kept alone for a long time.
The main issues are:
- She can often unpredictably hold on to your leg / arm and bite a bit violently to the point of drawing some blood especially if her nails are not trimmed.
- If unsafe or triggered she has no problem attacking.
- When taken to a vet she required taking a pill to relax her because of previously being very violent and difficult to handle.
- She also pees all over the place now (something she did not use to do at all - she is litterbox trained).
Her Likes:
She has a very loving affectionate side where she rubs, sits on your lap for scratches, rolls over for tummy rubs. She enjoys running after or playing with thin ropes and she has enjoyed different small non-plastic toys. She mainly eats dry food (kept her on Josera) but enjoys wet food as well. She likes to jump over high places. She has a very cute black heart in her mostly white fur. She enjoys sunshine so sitting by a window or going out in the balcony.Slow to warm up to strangers
