Ready to Travel:
Basbousa is a rescue cat. She was alone and scared in a garden near my house. She might be lost from her parents or escaped due to lack of attention. I found her and I put her in a vet clinic and they took care of her for 10 days. Now all her vaccinations are up to date, and I have the official certificate for your peace of mind.
She an exceptionally intelligent and lively cat. She is full of energy, playful, and even has a sense of humor that will always keep you smiling! Her favorite game is chasing small balls and play with them like a pro goal keeper, and if something moves or hides behind an object or a curtain, her natural hunting instincts kicks in, and that is a pure excitement for her!
Basbousa likes to be pampered and petted and to give her attention when she comes around you. She will give you the cutest purrs ever!
She responds well to commands and understands tone of voice clearly. She is fine around people but shy at first till she takes her time to be introduced to them. I didn’t test her around dogs yet.
Eating Habits
Basbousa enjoys wet food and loves chicken cut into small pieces (I buy it from a pet shop). I believe she will adapt easily to home-cooked meals. She eats dry food but not as much as wet food.
If she dislikes the food or finds its smell unpleasant, she’ll make a funny gesture—scratching as if she is “burying it like poop” and walks away!
Cleanliness & Litter Box Care
Basbousa is very clean, so her litter box routine is important:
• Daily cleaning of the litter box.
• Monthly washing of the litter box (or twice a month if urine residue builds up) to prevent odors in the house. I clean it twice a month.
• Plenty of litter—I use about 5 liters—so she can dig comfortably. This also makes cleaning easier because it clumps before reaching the box base.
Safety & Exploration
Basbousa loves to explore! Be cautious with open doors or windows—she might slip out or jump, literary in a second, especially if you live on a low floor. If you are on a higher floor, leaving a secure window open is great because she enjoys spying on neighbors, birds and street cats.
