Animal Welfare Dahab (AWD) is a voluntary initiative in Dahab and focuses on TNR, dog emergency aid and rehoming, as well as training and education. As a result of their work, almost 80% of their dog population has been sterilised. AWD were able to reach an agreement with the city council of Dahab to end all inhumane methods of animal control, making it the only dog friendly town in Egypt. The organisation has rehomed dogs locally as well as finding them homes abroad.
AWD also invests in creating awareness and working on educational projects for the local community.
