Tito is a healthy, expressive and loving senior Baladi dog with a youthful spirit. He is recovering from the loss of his human, who died recently. Apart from his regular walks, he is rather homey, preferring to hang out indoors. Since Tito has spent most of his life indoors with one human, he isn’t used to too many humans or animals. He is generally very connected to his human, loves human contact, petting and being brushed occasionally, and he appreciates lots of gentle pats and encouragement– and crunchy treats. He loves all kinds of food, including cucumbers and peanut butter. He can be a little anxious, but will quickly warm up to people if they make him feel safe. He is easily overstimulated, and is especially sensitive to noise and sudden movements, so a calm home in a quiet area will be ideal for him. Like all Baladis, he can be a bit of a barker. He is slowly learning to bark less, and to adapt to a calmer environment.
Medical history
Because Tito was only neutered recently, he is livelier and more energetic than other dogs his age. He is overall healthy, but must be kept on a low protein diet as he has some gallstones. He takes one pill a day to help his liver break down protein and fat.
Tito can sometimes exhibit resource guarding. An experienced dog owner will more likely be able to gently help him unlearn this behavior over time through positive training, consistency. He is very receptive and learns quickly.
