About Me
Polo used to belong to a woman for 4 years, but when she went through a hard time, I took over and had him for another 4 years.
He is loving, kind, playful, has great recall, barks if scared or stressed, yet very calm in a safe and loving environment.
This year, life threw a health curveball my way and Polo needs to be cared for by someone until I either get better, figure out how to fly him out, or for someone to be willing to be his new loved one.
He is now with his first owner who was going to keep him for as long as it takes, but 3 months in, she asked me to find someone else after I relied on her. Time is of the essence.
He is wonderful and doesn't start trouble with other animals. but he will chase a stray cat when he sees one.
It is not safe for him to be around any aggressive or territorial dogs. He prefers women to men, unless the man earns his trust.
If you have a garden, it's great, but he is cool in apartments too.
He is house-trained, but you gotta have his walking routine to avoid such accidents in the home.
I am more than happy to cover his expenses when needed.
Positive Reinforcement Only.
Ideally, a female energy home or a male owner who doesn't play rough with animals. Polo is gentle and gets scared when someone gets rough or intense suddenly.
He does great in an apartment, and he is an easy going dog who thrives in a peaceful environment. If he is well-loved and feeling safe, he's at his happiest and very low maintenance.
So it has to be a stress-free environment.
He walks first thing in the morning for about 20 min, and then again just before bed. I always let him out in the middle of the day for a couple of minutes in case he needs to pee.
He loves chilling at home, minds his own business on walks, and it is best for him to be the only pet or share with a truly friendly pet or female counterpart.
**KIDS: If there are kids in the home, it is crucial they know not to pull his tale, push, shove, scream, or do any highly reactive moves. Dogs read this as a threat and the reaction will be unpredictable. I prefer a home without children under the age of 12 or 15 even or kids with enough maturity to handle a dog kindly.
Positive Reinforcement Only.
